Consultancy developing counter-cyclical tendencies?
It’s been over two years since the venerable consulting firm A.T. Kearney completed the management buyout from EDS that made it independent once again. Since then the firm has probably enjoyed being out of the media spotlight, but it’s now keen to tell the world about its growth plans. I spoke to Phil Dunne, the partner in charge of recruitment (who also heads the automotive and transaction services practices) about why the firm is feeling so bullish.

Global employment survey finds slower Q4 hiring pace
While more subdued employer hiring forecasts continue to reflect current economic challenges and uncertainty, reports from employers in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, France, Germany and Sweden indicate that hiring in many markets is expected to be steady in the next three months.

Candidates and recruiters meeting annual Consultancy Careers Fair with enthusiasm
Fifty consulting organisations will field more than 500 recruiters at this year’s Consultancy Careers Fair to be held at The Barbican in London on both the evening of the 9th October and throughout the day of the 10th October. And it looks as if they will all be kept pretty busy as job seeker bookings are already rolling in, showing that some (thousands) at least are enthusiastic about driving their careers forward, despite uncertainties about the wider economic outlook.
