The MCA, the Management Consultancies Association, is pleased to announce it has received a record number of entries for the 2019 MCA Awards.
41 companies from across the breadth of the UK consulting sector have entered the competition this year, for both the individual and project awards. A record number of submissions have been completed, up a fifth on the total number of entries received by the MCA last year.
A number of new award categories have been announced for this year including an Outstanding Achievement award and prizes for Team Leader, Thought Leader and an award for the Innovation Consultant of the Year. Changes and updates have also been made to the existing awards categories to keep them up to date and relevant with, most notably, a new award for Innovation in Digital and Technology. Firms will also compete against each other for prizes which demonstrate how much change and transformation they have made in projects in the private and public sector. The MCA have also introduced a prize which recognises the core principles of Consulting Excellence and the winner in this category will have to demonstrate their commitment to, and understanding of, the practical implications of the Principles of Consulting Excellence.
The MCA Awards are now entering their 22nd year and provide a high profile platform to recognise the great achievements in consulting and to demonstrate its value to the UK economy and wider society. There are 21 categories in the 2019 MCA Awards: 12 project categories, 5 individual categories and 4 overall awards. Examples of successful projects can be found by looking at previous award winners on our website here.
The credibility of the MCA Awards depends on the authority, expertise and independence of our judging panel and process. The MCA has also announced the new judging panel for 2019. The full list can be seen here: 2019 Judges. The process of shortlisting will take place shortly and finalists for the MCA Awards will be announced early in the New Year. The Winner and Highly commended entries will be announced at a key industry event on Thursday 28th March 2019.
Tamzen Isacsson, Chief Executive of the Management Consultancies Association said: “The MCA Awards provide an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the important work consultants do, both in teams and individually, on projects across the private and public sector. Judges have their work cut out for themselves and we can expect some long, intense judging sessions early in the New Year. It’s great to see a record amount of interest in this year’s awards and we are confident that the updates we have made will secure future interest in the MCA Awards and the winners.”
